Amateur categories - updated 27th of June

It is also possible for everybody to take part in a relaxed amateur type orienteering event on the WMOC days. Start and finish areas are situated in the daily race centers, so it is possible for the participants of amateur categories to follow the progression of the WM event.         

Route alternatives:
A- route about 6 km
B- route about 4 km
C- route , easy, about 2 km

For example:

Q2 - Wednesday 11th of July A-route is 4,7km, B-route 3,6km and C-route 2,0km.

Final Day - Friday 13th of July A-route is 6,2km, B-route is 4.1 km and C-route is 2.1km.

Starting times:
Amateur runners can choose their starting time freely between 2.30 p.m.- 3.30 pm every day. Because of the WM-series it is not possible go to forest before that. Also FRWD-cup (W/M12-21) will start after 2.30 pm.

Amateur routes use the same marked points as the real competition, but amateur runners don’t use runner numbers.

The Midnight Sun Orienteering Rac 8th of July:
The week’s speciality, the Midnight Sun Orienteering event is worth taking part,. It starts at 20.00-23.30 pm from the top of Ruka fell and goes down to the skiing stadium on Sunday, July 8.
